Who is Jane Williams?
Earlier this year, we lost a beloved civil rights legend: the honorable Reverend Jessie Jackson, Sr. I recall hearing him proclaim: "I AM ... SOMEBODY!"
That still resonates with so many ... inspiring my own community activism.
I AM a Georgia native! I AM a caregiver. I AM a community advocate. I AM a community liaison for senior citizens. I AM a voting rights advocate. I AM a first-generation college graduate raised by a single mother. I AM the first in my family of 10 to purchase a home in my twenties!
You can't spell Williams without "I AM!"
These “I AMs” illustrate my life-long commitment to serving my community in a variety of ways. This includes organizing voter registration drives; assisting ex-felons in reclaiming their right to vote by terminating long probation sentences early with Georgia SB 105, assisting seniors with absentee applications; taking them to their doctor appointments; picking up their prescriptions and other essential errands. On a personal level, I have been the primary caregiver for my disabled sister for nearly 20 years. So, service is not just something I do. It’s who I am!
My leadership style is being an outspoken advocate who consistently shows up in spaces when and where many residents are unable to because of their unique life circumstances. But, I’m also a leader who understands the importance of rolling up your sleeves to “work with the people” to address the issues that matter most to them – from housing, healthcare, education, environment, voting rights and more!
Which is why I would be honored to be your next HD 68 Representative. Would love your support. May I count on your vote on May 19, 2026?!
